Those with even just the slightest interest in art will find many appealing art galleries scattered around the city of Prague. Situated within the very heart of the city, Prague's Art Master Gallery is known for its extensive displays of East European Art and Russian Paintings, while the Czech Museum of Fine Arts is home to many temporary exhibitions of modern paintings, sculptures and contemporary installations.

Further prominent art galleries in Prague include the National Gallery at the Dukelskych Hrdinu, which is housed in a particularly grand building dating back to the 1920s and home to an extensive collection of Czech modern art. Famous artists here include both Klimt and Picasso, amongst many others.




Those looking for something a little more traditional will enjoy a trip to the Collection of Old Masters at St. George's Convent in Prague Castle, where works from the Baroque and Renaissance eras are to be found. The art galleries at Kinsky Palace, St. Agnes Convent and Strahov Monastery are all also worth considering, along with the Municipal Gallery (Galerie Hlavniho Mesta Prahy), the biggest exhibition space in the whole of Prague.
